Hello, beautiful souls, welcome back to The Everyday Life Balance Show. This year, our theme is emancipation: finding freedom in body, mind and spirit. And one of the deepest freedoms we can experience is the calmness of mind.
Bob Proctor, one of my mentors, often said, “We don’t need to slow down; we need to calm down.” When we live in a chaotic, noisy and fast-paced world, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is a quiet mind. Calmness brings peace, clarity, and freedom from the chains of fear and overwhelm.
The Power of Intention
Calmness of mind begins with intention. We are joyful when we set the intention to operate our lives with peace in mind. When we set the intention to live with peace in our hearts, we claim the power to choose our thoughts. What we put in and what we put out daily shape the quality of our minds. This is you power of choice. Ask yourself gently: what intention am I carrying today? Am I inviting peace, or am I feeding worry?
Become a Great Observer of Your Thoughts
Living consciously means becoming a compassionate observer of your inner world. Instead of judging yourself, simply notice:
- Do I tend to worry?
- Do fear or negative thoughts cloud my peace?
- Do I hold hope in my heart, or only doom and gloom?
Observation is liberation. When you witness your non-supportive thoughts with love, you create space to choose differently.
Take a moment to reflect: which thought, if softened, would bring me more peace right now?
The Power of Words
Our words carry energy. They can heal, uplift and encourage – or they can disempower, drain and harm. When you speak harshly to others or yourself, your frequency lowers. When your words are kind and supportive, they elevate both you and those around you. The words you use have power.
Here is a gentle reminder: be tender with your words, speak to yourself as you would someone you love deeply.
Elevate Your Frequency
Calmness grows when we lift the frequency at which we lead our lives:
- Peaceful words create peace.
- An open heart increases our capacity to love.
- Letting go empties the mind and brings presence
- Forgiveness frees us from resentment and pain
When we choose these practices, we return – again and again - to peace.
5 Tips to Calm The Mind
Here are my five tips to return to peace you can start implementing today:
1. E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique) to release pent-up emotions, fear, and worry through tapping. E.F.T. is very effective, so try it today!
2. Breathwork: do the 4x4x4 breathing exercise. Inhale for 4, hold for 4 and exhale for 4. It’s simple, yet calming and powerful.
3. Walk Mindfully in Nature: our reconnection to nature gives us strength and brings us back to the essential. Feel your oneness with life and the earth. Even walking barefoot on grass can ground and restore you.
4. Hold a gratitude journal: gratitude brings us peace as we focus on blessings, not lack. Gratitude softens the mind and fills the heart.
5. Pray: believe in the power of prayer. It connects us to divine support and brings us peace.
These practices aren’t about perfection. Their purpose is to create lightness in body, mind and spirit, moment by moment.
Maintaining Peace of Mind
Peace isn’t a one-time achievement; it’s a daily devotion, which is the true purpose of Everyday Life Balance. I invite you to create a new habit: set a peaceful intention each morning and revisit it throughout the day. As you prepare for rest, choose one practice to close the evening calmly.
Here is a quick reminder of the five tips to return to peace:
1. E.F.T
2. 4x4x4 breath work
3. Mindful nature walk
4. Gratitude journaling
5. Prayer
Beautiful soul, calmness of mind is true emancipation. It frees us from the heaviness of fear, worry and the weight of resentment. When you make peace, your daily motto, you invite freedom into every area of your life.
