Hello, beautiful souls! Welcome back to our enriching journey with The Gratitude Experiment. I am Pascale Gibon, your guide on this path of discovery and joy. Thank you for tuning in to episode 318 of The Everyday Life Balance Show.

A spirit of gratitude reminds us to be mindful. In this episode, we will explore the harmonious blend of mindfulness and gratitude, focusing on the beauty surrounding us.

As we continue this transformative journey, our theme this week is to be profoundly mindful of our environment by observing and appreciating the beauty surrounding us daily.

According to Jon Kabat-Zinn:

"Mindfulness is the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally.” 

Let me share a personal experience with you. When I cycle through the serene Hyde Park in London, my heart swells with gratitude. I am captivated by the way sunlight dances through the tree leaves, the sight of people joyfully exercising, and the exuberant playfulness of dogs. These moments, seemingly fleeting, are, in fact, deeply regenerative. They remind me to pause, breathe, and rejoice in the beauty of my surroundings.

Amy Colette once said:

“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” 

How true these words ring! The more I immerse myself in gratitude, the more beauty unveils itself to me. It is a conscious choice. We often hear how negative news tend to dominate the headlines, selling more papers than positive stories. But here, in our space, I want to inspire a shift – a belief that positivity breeds more positivity. It invites reflecting on the universal law that our external reality mirrors our internal thoughts. The more grateful you are, the more happiness radiates in and around you. It is like being in communion with greatness itself.

Now, let us delve a bit deeper. Mindfulness in gratitude is not just about acknowledging what is good; it is about fully experiencing it with all our senses. It is about being present in the moment, feeling the breeze, hearing the laughter, seeing the colours, and understanding that these are not just fleeting moments but essential parts of our lives that deserve our full attention and appreciation.

In this episode, let us explore together:
